Spotify removed its built-in visualizer years ago - ProVisHD brings the light show back. It's a desktop music visualizer that works with Spotify out of the box: it reacts to the sound your computer plays, so whatever you stream in the Spotify app or web player is instantly turned into moving, beat-synced visuals. No Spotify login, no API keys, no Premium required.

Yes. Because the visualizer reacts to your system's sound rather than to Spotify itself, it doesn't matter whether you're on Spotify Free or Premium - ads and all, everything that plays gets visualized.
Yes. Keep Spotify playing in the background and put ProVisHD fullscreen (F11), or keep the visualizer always on top in a corner of your screen while you work.
The built-in record mode saves the visualizer plus the playing audio as an MP4 for your own use. If you plan to publish a video, make sure you have the rights to the music in it - most streamed tracks are copyrighted.
