Welcome to ProVisHD Music Visualizer (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App and the official website collect, how it is used, and the choices you have about that information.

2. Information We Collect

Feedback

When you submit feedback within the App, we collect your email address, your feedback message, and technical details about your installation (app version, build type, and operating system). This information is stored in our own database. Your email address is used solely to respond to your feedback, is never shared with third parties, and is deleted after 30 days.

Usage Analytics

In-App Analytics. The App sends usage data to our own server (not to Google or any third party). The following is collected:

• Session duration, app version, operating system, build type, and screen resolution.
• Which visualizers you use and for how long (aggregated).
• In-app feature events (e.g. which features are opened).

Each installation is assigned a random anonymous identifier (a UUID generated locally on your device). This identifier is not linked to your name, email address, IP address, or any other personal information. No personally identifiable information is collected through in-app analytics.

Website Analytics. The official website uses Google Analytics, but only if you explicitly accept the cookie consent banner (fully GDPR-compliant, opt-in). It collects anonymous, aggregated data about website visits. IP anonymisation is enabled and ad personalisation is disabled. Website analytics data is completely separate from any in-app data - the two are never linked or combined.

Audio Processing & Recording

The App can analyze audio in two ways to generate visual effects:

• System Audio Mode: The App reads numeric sound-level values exposed by your operating system or audio device. This mode does not access microphone audio.
• Microphone Mode: The App can read live microphone input for visualization. This data is processed locally in real time and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.

The App also includes an optional, user-initiated feature for recording system/output audio only (for saving your visualizer sessions). When you start a recording, the App captures system audio and saves it locally on your device to a location you choose.

• Only system audio is recorded during this feature.
• Microphone audio is never recorded.
• No audio data is sent to any server or third party.

Your audio is processed and stored entirely on your device. The App does not upload, transmit, or otherwise share audio data.

Screen Recording

The App requests macOS Screen Recording permission (via Apple's ScreenCaptureKit) for two purposes:

• Optional video export. When you tap the in-app Record button, the App captures the App's own window plus system audio to save a video file of the visualizer output. This is fully user-initiated and only active while a recording is running.
• Core visualizer feature - system audio capture. The App's primary function is to render real-time visuals reactive to whatever audio is currently playing on your Mac (e.g. Music, Spotify, a browser tab). macOS provides no public API to capture system audio output directly - the only supported path is ScreenCaptureKit, which requires a video track even though the App only uses the audio. We configure that video track at the minimum possible resolution and frame rate (2×2 pixels, 1 frame per second), and we never display, store, or transmit any video frames from it - they exist only to satisfy the API's requirement.

This is why the App requests Screen Recording permission on first launch, even before you record anything.

• Outside of an active, user-initiated recording, no video is captured or retained.
• Recorded videos are saved only locally on your device, to a location you choose.
• No video data - whether the minimal audio-capture video stream or a user-initiated recording - is ever sent to our server or to any third party.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• To respond to feedback and support requests.
• To notify users who subscribed on the website about the Mac version release.
• To improve the App's performance, stability, and user experience.
• To analyze aggregated in-app usage trends using our own analytics service.
• To analyze website traffic via Google Analytics (website visitors who have accepted the cookie consent only).

We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties. Our legal basis for processing this information is your consent (for feedback and email notifications) and our legitimate interest in improving the App (for analytics).

4. Data Retention

Email addresses submitted through the in-app feedback form are deleted from our database after 30 days. Feedback messages (without the email) may be retained longer to help improve the App. Opt-in email addresses for Mac release notifications are deleted after the notification is sent or per request, by writing to us at . Aggregated in-app analytics data (session counts, usage stats, events) contains no personal information and is retained indefinitely for trend analysis. Website analytics data is retained according to Google's retention policies. Audio + video recordings generated through the App's optional recording feature are saved only on your device; we do not have access to or retain these files.

5. Data Sharing

Your feedback messages and opt-in email addresses are stored directly by the developer and are not shared with other parties. In-app analytics data is processed exclusively on our own server and is not shared with any third party. Google Analytics is used only for website traffic analysis (opt-in via cookie consent, not used in the App at all), and website analytics data is not linked to any in-app data. The App does not transmit or upload audio data of any kind (microphone, system audio, or recordings). The same applies to video/screen-capture data: whether it's the minimal video stream used only to enable system audio capture, or a video you record with the in-app Record feature, it is never transmitted or uploaded to us or to any third party.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to request access to or deletion of personal data you have provided through feedback messages or the website opt-in form. To make such a request, contact us at . We will respond to reasonable requests in accordance with applicable law.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised policy will include a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App or the website after changes means you accept the updated policy.
