How to visualize your music on a Mac

Get ProVisHD for macOS from the download section and open it.

Play music in any app, or switch the sound source to a microphone (a USB/Bluetooth mic, or headphones with a mic).

Watch the visuals react live. Use the arrow keys to change visualizers and press Z for each one's second mode.

Is there really a Mac version of ProVisHD?

Yes. ProVisHD runs natively on macOS as well as on Windows 10 and 11. Head to the download section to get it.

What can the Mac version visualize?

Anything you play on your Mac - streaming services, mp3s, browser audio - and, with microphone mode, the sound around you, so it also reacts to your voice or instruments.

How do I enable microphone mode on macOS?

Open System Settings, go to Privacy & Security, scroll to Microphone and toggle on ProVisHD Music Visualizer. Then in the app press "Refresh Microphones List" and pick your mic - a USB or Bluetooth microphone, or headphones with a mic. Step-by-step help is on the support page.

Does the Mac version record my audio?

No. The app only detects sound levels as numeric values to drive the graphics. Only the optional record mode saves audio - together with the visuals, locally on your Mac, as an MP4 for your own use.
