How to record a music video

1. Install ProVisHD on Windows or Mac and play your song from any app - your DAW export, an mp3, anything.
2. Pick one of the 29 visualizers and shape it live with the VJ keys if you like. Optionally overlay your logo or artist name.
3. Hit the record button (or Shift+click it to start instantly). Press Esc to stop - the MP4 with video and audio is saved locally, ready to upload to Instagram, Facebook or YouTube.

What exactly does record mode save?

Record mode captures the visualizer together with the audio that's playing on your computer and saves it as an MP4 (currently up to 15 minutes per video). The file is saved locally, in a format compatible with popular social networks - you upload it yourself wherever you want.

Can I post the videos on Instagram and Facebook?

Yes - that's what the MP4 export is for. Upload the recorded video to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube or any other platform. Just make sure you have the rights to the music in the video, which is automatic if it's your own song.

Can I put my artist name or logo in the video?

Yes. ProVisHD overlays your own logo or a custom text on the visualizer, and it's included in the recording - so every clip you post carries your branding.

How do I make each post look different?

Pick a different one of the 29 visualizers per track, press Z for each one's second mode, and use the 6 live VJ modifier keys while recording - the same song can get a completely different video every time.
